Star Wars Zero Company Best Operators: Choosing Between the Seven
Pick your squad by mission instead of by tier list: repositioning, growing accuracy, automatic finishing shots, refunded AP and Force scaling.

Start with the honest answer: there is no single strongest Operator. EA gives each of the seven authored Operators one unique talent, and those talents do different jobs.
The question worth asking is not “who is best” but “what is this mission missing”.
The seven authored Operators and their talents
| Operator | Official unique talent | The problem it solves |
|---|---|---|
| Hawks | Player-created leader with species, appearance, voice and specialization choices | Fills whatever gap you want, but must deploy on story missions |
| Trick | Fixed story talent | A steady damage slot through the early and mid campaign |
| Tel-Rea Vokoss | Strong with the Force: Harmony stacks each turn raise lightsaber deflection and attack damage | Blocking incoming fire while Force damage scales up |
| Cly Kullervo | Combat Jump: jetpack leap that pushes enemies out of position and inflicts Burn | Pulling enemies back out of cover |
| Luco Bronc | Combat Gas: Sharpened Senses stacks raise percentage chance to hit | Getting more accurate as a long fight drags on |
| Jae Mordant | Final Shot: automatically assists against and eliminates low-health targets | Skipping the clean-up turn on a nearly dead enemy |
| Kabb Uppercut | Uppercut: knockback melee that refunds its action point on a kill | Clearing the front line without burning AP |
Pick by mission, not by ranking
Enemies dug into cover: bring Cly. Shoving a target out of cover hands the whole squad one high-percentage shot it did not have.
A high-health single target: Luco’s accuracy stacks fit better. Hit chance determines a turn more directly than damage does, and a talent that climbs pays off across a long encounter.
Someone is about to be focused down: Tel-Rea’s deflection is rare, and she is the only Jedi Padawan Specialization in the game. There is no replacement.
You need clean-up and tempo: Jae and Kabb both save action points. Let someone else do the damage first, then they finish, and the AP you saved goes into the actual objective.
Straight damage: give the high-damage specialization to Hawks. But remember Hawks must deploy on story missions and Hawks dying fails the mission outright, so don’t treat them as expendable.
Don’t forget the roster caps
The roster caps at 20 Operators and starts at 7. Den facility upgrades, story progress and new authored recruits raise it. Custom Operators cost Credits to recruit.
So “best squad” has two phases: early on, when resources are tight, the fixed story Operators carry you; later you recruit custom Operators to fill the specializations you are still missing.
For what each specialization actually does, read the eight specializations. To squeeze more out of a fixed pairing, read the Bond system.
