Quick answer

STAR WARS Zero Company launched on 27 August 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. EA’s official controls hub lists the default keyboard-and-mouse and controller schemes. Keyboard, mouse and supported controller bindings can all be remapped.

If an on-screen prompt disagrees with a guide written during pre-release access, the controls hub is the reference that wins.

What the controls hub covers

It separates PC keyboard-and-mouse inputs from the PlayStation and Xbox controller layouts. It is a reference for button names and default actions, not a complete combat tutorial.

Turn-based combat still runs on Action Points, cover and objectives, so changing a key does not change the underlying rules.

Why remapping matters

In combat you issue movement, attacks, abilities and item commands while tracking remaining Action Points. A layout that puts confirm, cancel or camera controls far apart creates input errors you did not need to make.

When moving between PC and console, match the action names rather than assuming the same letter or face button performs the same command.

Setting up for a first mission

  1. Compare the action names in the controls hub against the in-game Settings menu.
  2. Remap only what you can test immediately: confirm, cancel, camera rotation, end turn and ability shortcuts.
  3. Enter a low-risk Tactical Mission and verify each binding before spending AP on an attack.
  4. Note the default layout somewhere. Patches or profile resets can restore defaults, and a screenshot makes recovery quick.

Key details the official FAQ confirms

  • On PC, both keyboard-and-mouse and controller bindings can be remapped, not just keyboard and mouse.
  • On console, PlayStation and Xbox controller bindings can be remapped too.
  • The game is “mostly playable” with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 controllers, but some text entry still requires a keyboard.
  • 32:9 and 21:9 ultrawide monitors are supported, which changes how you read camera and UI layouts on an ultrawide display.

If you cannot find the rebinding menu on console, confirm you are on the current patch first; 1.1 also updated some menu prompt text.

Sources and limits

EA promises neither a universal best layout nor platform-specific performance. Sensitivity, dead zones and accessibility options are personal settings, so re-test them after updates.
