STAR WARS Zero Company Character Creation and Recruitment
Follow the official Custom Operator recruitment flow, then refine names, species, voices, talents, specializations, and gear in The Den.

Character creation starts at the Recruitment Facility in The Den, not in a multiplayer lobby. Each Cycle offers a pool of Custom Operators. Review a candidate, spend Credits to recruit them, and then use The Den to refine the fields the game makes available.
What the recruitment flow includes
- Open the Recruitment Facility and inspect the current candidates.
- Compare each candidate’s name, talent, specialization, weapon type, and backstory.
- Refresh the pool or use a custom pool when the current selection does not fit your plan.
- Recruit with Credits, then adjust appearance, voice, clothing, specialization, talents, and equipment.
- Deploy the recruit in a real mission to test the setup and develop Bonds.
Why Custom and Authored Operators differ
Custom Operators are your editable recruits. Authored Operators enter through the story with established identities and backstories. Some appearance, gear, or specialization fields may still be adjustable for authored characters, but the official overview does not promise that every field is editable for every recruit.
What to verify in-game
The pool, costs, capacity, and available fields are current-game data and may change with patches. Source: EA’s recruitment and customization overview, checked 2026-08-29.
